Truck Bash

This truck bash is my first project jumping back into 3D after a few years of doing mostly illustrative and comic art work.

The main parameters were to create a four wheel vehicle around the size of a standard pickup. My main inspiration came from the Mad Max movies, and the large plethora of dystopic movies and novels. The assets were modeled and textured in Maya. I will likely be revisiting this project on Substance Designer and Painter.

Block model and low-poly just about fleshed out. I was still playing with how I wanted the base textures to look at this point.

Playing with lighting and some low-poly sand dunes.

I'd settled on a rust bucket for the final look of the truck. The sand dunes also had to be replaced with a turntable.

Final result! The rust textures are the result of a lot of triplanar blending in Maya's Vray plugin.
